Statewide e-bike law

Arizona Regulations

Electric bicycle classes and access: Arizona recognizes three classes of e-bike under 750 watts and generally gives them bicycle rights and duties. Class 1 and 2 may use bicycle paths unless the local authority or agency prohibits them; Class 3 path access is limited to paths adjacent to a roadway or those locally allowed. The cited e-bike provisions do not establish a special statewide age or helmet rule.

Class 1 and 2 speed is capped at 15 mph on sidewalks, non-canal shared paths, and parks, reduced to 5 mph when passing pedestrians. Canal shared paths prohibit motorized vehicles.
