ArizonaElectric bicycle classes and access
Arizona recognizes three classes of e-bike under 750 watts and generally gives them bicycle rights and duties. Class 1 and 2 may use bicycle paths unless the local authority or agency prohibits them; Class 3 path access is limited to paths adjacent to a roadway or those locally allowed. The cited e-bike provisions do not establish a special statewide age or helmet rule.

MesaE-bike sidewalk, City park, and shared-path rules
E-bikes are prohibited on sidewalks and in City parks and parking structures except on public roadways passing through parks. Class 1 and 2 e-bikes may use shared paths; Class 3 is excluded except on through-park roads and parking lots. Posted and prudent speed, lighting, equipment, and traffic rules also apply. Ordinance 5533 was adopted October 7, 2019; the exact effective date was not established.
