Rhode Island Regulations
- Electric bicycle classes and helmet age: Rhode Island defines three e-bike classes up to 750 watts and generally applies bicycle rules. State environmental managers may regulate on their property, but Class 1 must be allowed on state bike trails. All e-bike riders and passengers under 21 must wear helmets on public highways, bike/shared-use paths, parks, recreation areas, school property, and public rights-of-way. No minimum age was verified.
