Rhode IslandElectric bicycle classes and helmet age
Rhode Island defines three e-bike classes up to 750 watts and generally applies bicycle rules. State environmental managers may regulate on their property, but Class 1 must be allowed on state bike trails. All e-bike riders and passengers under 21 must wear helmets on public highways, bike/shared-use paths, parks, recreation areas, school property, and public rights-of-way. No minimum age was verified.

WoonsocketMotorized bicycle prohibition in City parks and recreation areas
Bars battery-powered or motorized bicycles in City parks and recreation areas, including trails, paths, playgrounds, picnic areas, and open green spaces. ADA mobility devices and authorized City vehicles are exempt. The Code provides fines up to $100 for a first violation and $250 for subsequent violations; current code history includes amendments through October 14, 2024.
