- Electrically assisted bicycle definition: Montana defines an electrically assisted bicycle as a two-wheel vehicle with an electric motor that can propel a 170-pound rider at no more than 20 mph on a paved, level surface and includes it within the bicycle category. No separate class system or e-bike-specific statewide age/helmet rule was verified in the current code reviewed.
