Electric-assisted bicycle classes, age, and paths
Minnesota defines three classes of electric-assisted bicycles, generally up to 750 watts, and applies bicycle road and lane rights. Classed e-bikes may use paths subject to state, local, and managing-agency restrictions; natural-surface trails are agency regulated. Operators under 15 may not operate an e-assist bicycle; Class 3 requires a speedometer. No statewide e-bike-specific helmet rule was verified.
