IdahoElectric bicycle classes, road duties, and local restrictions
Idaho defines three e-bike classes under 750 watts and generally applies bicycle rights and duties, with no driver license, title, or registration requirement. Path access may be restricted by local ordinance or agency action. HB 500, effective July 1, 2026, expressly includes e-bike riders in rules-of-the-road and passenger-carrying provisions. No statewide e-bike-specific age or helmet rule was verified.
