ColoradoElectric bicycle classes, age, helmets, and paths
Colorado defines three e-bike classes. Class 3 requires a speedometer; operators under 16 may not operate Class 3, and riders under 18 on Class 3 must wear a helmet. Class 1 and 2 may use bicycle paths unless prohibited; Class 3 use is limited to paths adjacent to a street/highway or locally permitted paths. Local governments may restrict e-bikes on paths.

EagleTown path speed, helmet, and trail restrictions
In the Town of Eagle, e-bikes are limited to 15 mph on designated bike paths, sidewalks, and non-motorized trails; roadway use follows posted limits. Riders and passengers under 18 must wear helmets. E-bikes are barred from natural-surface trails except Second Gulch Trail and from the BMX park; dismount zones and other operating rules also apply. The local ordinance defines Class 3 differently from Colorado state law, so consult the cited text when class definitions matter.
